Summer Bum

I don’t remember the last time I had absolutely nothing to do! Nowhere to go, nowhere to be and all day to just relax and enjoy…until today! I picked up my amazon package, caught up on laundry, put some finishing touches on the apartment (yea – we moved in a month and a half ago and we are still hanging things around the house lol) and caught up on some of my favorite TV shows. Oh the joy of being relaxed!!! The only thing I haven’t done is take a nap, but no worries, I penciled some time in my day to make sure I do that too 🙂 For good reason, these days are some of my favorites, but also some of the days when my attire really struggles.
Once I have nothing to do, I usually end up not wanting to put any effort into my appearance either, which inevitably ends with no makeup, a hat, or a simple outfit. And I’ll be honest, sometimes it ends with all three 🙂 That’s where this outfit comes in! I am a firm believer that a blazer and a bright lip makes every outfit look chic and put together, regardless of what you are actually wearing. So I threw on an oversized t-shirt, some fun denim shorts and my little leopard tennies and Joe and I went for a walk through the park, followed up with a trip to Ulta because..well is an explanation really needed on why I went to Ulta?! It’s Ulta – and they have beauty products….and no girl can have enough right?!
Now off to that nap, and maybe a mani/pedi. This day is pure bliss 🙂
What have you done to relax today?!

Animal House

Who doesn’t love a cute romper? It makes getting dressed super simple because it takes all the guesswork out of picking out an outfit. And let’s face it…there are just some days when stressing about dressing just isn’t worth it. Thus the invention of the romper solves all! No more struggling over what top to pair with which bottom, and then figuring out the shoes, the bag and the jewels that will complete the whole ensemble. That’s where this look comes in!
This romper is my favorite piece to look at in my closet right now. Maybe it’s the playful animal print or maybe it’s the reminder of warm weather, but either way, this piece is so perfect it can stand entirely on its own, with little legwork needed from me. I am not too fond of wearing spaghetti straps on their own (not sure why – just makes me uncomfortable) and since this little romper has adjustable spaghetti straps, I figured it was a prime opportunity to throw a classic blazer overtop and really dress it up. Oh and the shoes…don’t even get me started on the shoes!I purchased these during the winter for $9.99, Yep, that’s not a typo.
I guess my only complaint with this outfit and rompers in general is needing to use the ladies room. That may be TMI, but rompers make for some pretty awkward – and lonngg trips to the wash room, that can end with a handful of disastrous outcomes.
So though it may look cute, wear with caution. And not out for a night of drinking. You can thank me later 🙂

Window Shopper

With summer approaching, there are so many new looks in stores that I can hardly contain myself. I find myself window shopping ALL. THE. TIME. Seriously, I have taken window shopping to a whole new level!
I am looking forward to getting some new key pieces to incorporate into the wardrobe/blog, but I am just entirely too indecisive. Not only an I all googly eyes over two piece suits right now (which are simple, chic and a total statement), but I am obsessing over flats – which if you know me, then you know I am vertically challenged and almost always prefer heels. Oh and don’t even get me started on Pineapples. If it has a pineapple on it, I want it. Nevertheless, I been browsing online at sheinside.com (which if you haven’t checked it out, you must do so RIGHT NOW!), so I’m including a list of my favorite Spring/Summer pieces below.
Y’all need to help me figure out which ones to order! AGHHHHHH!

Spa Day Giveaway!

Maybe it’s just me, but lately I have been feeling a little more pushed to the limits than normal. It could be the fact that it’s been warm outside but we haven’t had air conditioner (will be getting it on May 15th and must admit, the constant heat is frying my brain!), it could be that I am busier than normal at my day job, or it could be that I really haven’t taken the time to pamper myself in a while.
And stress is just not good for the body (I know, I know – we’ve all heard that before), but inevitably if I am amidst a stressful time, my skin becomes a complete brat, my brain goes on the fritz and my hunger – well I practically eat everything in my sight. That said, I am trying to teach myself how to live a life free of stress.
I can’t really get into the whole yoga thing and trust me I’ve tried. I just can’t find my relaxation during all those poses…I’m either thinking ‘this pose isn’t challenging’, “this pose is too challenging’, ‘my freaking legs burn’, ‘is the person behind me starring at my butt’, ‘my pants are too tight’, ‘I need to stop at the dry cleaners on the way home’, ‘hmm – I’m hungry’, ‘why did I pay for this’, ‘ooh I like that girl’s shoes’, I wonder what Joe is doing’…you get the point. I’m like curious George, so the wheels on my bus are in constant motion.
So since yoga is not for me, I find solace in the spa – give me a facial, a little massage and a mani/pedi and I am in heaven! Especially since I am such a skin care junkie! So like I said, maybe it’s just me, but then again, maybe you’re feeling the stress too. So I’ve teamed up with some really lovely ladies to giveaway a Spa Day!! You can thank me later 🙂
All you need to do is go to my Instagram page and follow the rules. Yep, it’s that simple. So get moving and good luck!
Oh and remember – don’t stress!

Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue! I just love weddings…I mean what girl doesn’t dream of that Cinderella moment all her life?! And the older I get, the more I enjoy weddings….the ceremonies (which I inevitably always tear up during – I don’t even have to know the couple to cry at their wedding #iloveLOVE), the receptions, but more importantly – the fashion!
The wedding dress is the ultimate fashion statement, and yesterday’s bride had a stunning dress that I oohed and ahhed over all night! A little lace racerback and a mermaid bottom?!- I mean COME ON! Well anyway, I have always made it a point to try and wear blue to every wedding I attend…maybe it’s cheesy, but I figure if the bride and groom forget their “something blue” then they always have me and my dress. Thankfully I was able to score this Lilly for Target dress during the release and was waiting for the perfect moment to wear it.
“Hello perfect moment, nice to meet you!”
The wedding was breathtaking…right on the water (Close enough to Canada that I couldn’t use my phone – Boo you AT&T!), and the rain held off just long enough for the ceremony to take place outside. Oh and did I mention it was 80 degrees?! Yea, it was pretty much perfect! So much so, that I am still in wedding mode. Which means I need another wedding to attend asap! So who’s getting married soon?!
Any strange wedding traditions that you follow?
