Wine Down Wednesday

We’ve made it over the hump this week – and as a reward, we all deserve a glass of wine! At least that’s my philosophy.
Many of you know that I started back in the office of my full time job, which I must say – has really been quite pleasant. I thought getting up early everyday, taking a train into the city and working within an office again was going to be a tough adjustment, but so far so good! I love my coworkers, the train is super simple (and quick!) and the weather has been fairly decent. Although I hear there is a chance of rain tomorrow, so maybe I’ll recant the latter 🙂
One thing I have noticed about working in the city, is there is a lot of BLACK clothing! Don’t get me wrong, I love black…uber flattering and super chic, but come on Chicago – spruce it up a little! I stood out like a sore thumb in this ultra cozy, blazer inspired powder blue coat today. And while I don’t mind standing out (if it’s for all the right reasons of course), even I was a little uncomfortable in the masses of business black. Nevertheless, I at least managed to score some points with the black fitted pants and boots.
Are you still dressing for Winter in head to toe black?! Or have you started implementing pastels and color into the work week? Either way, I’d love to know what you consider city chic!

Hello again my lovely readers! I know it’s been a while since my last post, so I wanted to give you all the scoop on what has been occupying all my time. If you have been following me since the beginning or read some of my previous posts, then you know that I was planning to move back to Chicago. Despite having packers and movers, the process of getting acclimated and organized in a new home, in a different city – it’s just tough. We made the move from Cleveland to Chicago with a total of 78 boxes. 78 BOXES!! While most of these boxes are unpacked now, it was a lot of work – and not a lot of fashion.
On top of that – I stubbed my baby toe – you know, the one that goes ‘wee wee wee all the way home’..not once, but twice within a week. These incidents inevitably led to no walking for a few days which delayed unpacking and put a hinder on my shoe game.
Now add to all of this two basketball games, two birthdays and Easter and well… you can begin to imagine why these past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind.
The good news, I am ready to get this blog back up and running. I came home from my first day back in the office of my full time job (while in Cleveland – I worked from home) and my sweet boyfriend had purchased a brand new MacBook for me and my blog. I can’t say enough sweet things about this man – he knows me too well. So stay tuned for more blog posts this week, some featured writers coming soon and some new editing with this new computer!
For now, take a sneak peak at some of my photos during the hiatus!

More Shoes Please!

Anyone who knows me knows my obsession with shoes. It’s my kryptonite. I just can’t pass up a great deal on an awesome pair of shoes. I blame this entirely on my momma.  It’s funny because she is visiting Joe and I this week since it’s our last week in Cleveland. Yesterday I took her to the mall during my lunch break (I live directly across the street from a mall – which puts a lot of strain on my wallet :)) because she was searching for a specific pair of shoes, which she found…along with two other pairs.
In total, she has actually purchased 6 pair of shoes on her visit to Cleveland!! And Joe wonders why I love shoes…. That got me thinking…why don’t I do a post on shoes?!
Below you will see some of my favorite shoes on the market right now…some I own, some I don’t, and some will find a home in my closet shortly. Either way, click on the link to see where to purchase and enjoy!
Happy Friday.

St. Patrick’s Day

Oh St. Patty’s Day…one of my least favorite holidays. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for celebrating the Irish, I’m just not a huge fan of wearing green. Like the color brown, it just isn’t something you will see a lot of in my wardrobe. So instead of going out and buying another green shirt that inevitably hangs in my closet until it is donated, I figured I’d boycott the whole “green” thing and start my celebrations in this super comfy grey sweatshirt dress.
The thing I love most about this little number is you can wear it a thousand ways! It goes with any color, so if you want to pair it with a green button down, green blazer or even green shoes – you totally could! Or if you want to dress it down with flats or dress it up with heels – you totally could! Its versatility makes it a current staple for Spring, which is so close to being here I can hardly contain myself!!
What are your plans for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day?!
